Tulsa, OK – U.S. Sen. Tom Coburn says that while he hasn't yet decided on whether to run for a second term in the Senate, he has no plans to enter the 2010 governor's race in Oklahoma.

The Republican from Muskogee spoke yesterday at the Republican Women's Club of Tulsa. Before his speech, he said the fact a ``Coburn for Senate'' Web site has been activated should not be taken as confirmation he will seek re-election for that office in 2010.

He says the Web site is, quote, ``something you have to do if you have any money come in.''

Austin, TX – A late legislative win for Republicans seems to have secured the GOP majority in the Texas House -- if only by a two-seat margin.

The Associated Press reports the narrow 76-74 majority appears to give momentum back to Tom Craddick of Midland in the volatile speaker's race.

The Irving seat held by Republican Rep. Linda Harper-Brown had not been decided since last week's election.

But after the count of overseas and provisional ballots was completed -- the incumbent held a 20-vote lead over her Democratic challenger.

Lawton, OK – Fort Sill's liaison to the city of Lawton is firing back at a police officer's comments that soldiers at the base are involved in gangs.

Col. Robert Bridgford issued a written statement saying information released by police Lt. Darrell Southerland ``was completely inaccurate.''

Southerland oversees the city's gang task force unit and told The Oklahoman last week that he's warned Fort Sill officials for years about a widespread gang problem.

New York, NY – A $630 million project to replace New York City's Kosciuszko (Kuh-SHOOS'-koh) Bridge will include input from Native Americans in Wisconsin and Oklahoma.

Highway Administration spokesman Doug Hecox says New York state has notified federal officials that the project could affect some ancestral land of the Stockbridge-Munsee Mohicans, based in Wisconsin, and the Delaware Nation, based in Oklahoma.

Dan Keefe of New York's Historic Preservation Office says preliminary studies show the area could hold buried artifacts.
