Oklahoma House Democrats have filed legislation to reverse Senate Bill 658, which prevents school boards from implementing life-saving COVID protection measures. 

The Oklahoma State Medical Association and local parents are taking their fight for school mask mandates to court.

Oklahoma's largest traditional public school district is implementing a mask mandate, despite the state law prohibiting them.

According to the Texas Tribune, 4 of Texas’ largest school districts including Dallas, Houston, and Austin schools have issued mask mandates, directly opposing Governor Gregg Abbots orders.

Internal documents show Oklahoma health officials are concerned there is no solution in sight for the state’s strained hospitals. 

The Oklahoma City Memorial Marathon is returning in-person in October and organizers are encouraging runners to get vaccinated against COVID-19 ahead of the race.
