The entire Aggie Community was welcomed on campus at 7:30 p.m. Thurs., Aug 27 to the University Theatre where Oklahoma's first Chief AI and Technology Officer, Mr. Tai Phan presented for the opening of Academic Festival XIII.
Phan conducted a student session on campus that afternoon at 3:30 p.m., in the Johnson Auditorium of Ross Hall, where nearly every seat was filled to hear him present for this year's Academic Festival theme, "Being Human in the Age of AI."
The vocal and opinionated crowd interacted with Phan's presentation, answering questions and giving thoughts on the ethics and implications of using AI, both in the classroom and personal life.
The evening presentation was a similar format, with Phan's interactive QR code method where audience members scan and respond in real time, giving answers and opinions to help guide the trajectory of Phan's speech.

Each subsequent presentation will follow the same format of a Thursday 3:30 p.m. student session in the Johnson Auditorium, and then the evening 7:30 p.m. Community Session in the University Theatre, all held on the Lawton Campus after Sept. 10th.
