This week, Lawton City Councilman Taron Epps stopped by the studio to discuss the upcoming local elections on Aug. 25th and why it is important for everyone to get out and VOTE!
In the audio interview above you can hear from Epps on some local issues around Lawton's Unhoused Population and get some clarification on the roles and responsibility of City Council members.
Epps also detailed why he felt it was necessary to run for the Ward 2 seat, after being appointed the position last year. He shares some of his values, and why his constituents should choose him to represent Ward 2 and be their advocate.
Epps encouraged everyone to come out for election day and exercise your right to vote, while doing your part to increase the turnout locally, which has been historically low in our area.

All registered voters can help decide:
Several seats for Lawton City Council that will be elected, along with other local municipal positions.
And TWO state questions, SQ 844 and SQ 846 will appear on the ballot, voters can visit okpolicy.org for more information on those and other election details.
Depending on Party Registration:
Some can vote for a Republican candidate in the Oklahoma Governor Runoff, to determine who will move forward in that election.
There are also Republican runoff elections for State Superintendent, Labor Commissioner, and Insurance Commissioner to be decided.
Democratic voters can weigh-in on a run off for U.S. Senate.
Other Oklahoma House and Senate seats will be included along with county offices, based on party affiliation.
