Part one: this week's community focus began with an interview from Richard Rogalski, member of Friends of the Trail and this year's Ride Director, to discuss the 2026 Tour of the Wichitas Bike Ride, taking place at 8 a.m., Sat. June 20.
Check-in and the race start/end point is at the Fort Sill Patriot Club, located on post at 500 Upton Road. If you need to get a pass for access, you can do that online or at the Visitor Center before the Sheridan Road Gate. *You will need proper identification*
You can do pre check-in Friday (19th) from noon-7 at the Patriot Club, or Saturday morning starting at 6 a.m. up to the ride start.
Cyclists can register for $40 (single) or $60 (tandem) and choose from four routes ranging from 19 miles up to 65 miles. That price also includes a commemorative t-shirt designed for the 2026 ride.
The advanced 65 mile route takes you up the famous Adam's Hill and the first male and female riders to make it to the top will be crowned the "King and Queen of the Mountain."
These four scenic routes that take you across historic Fort Sill and through the beautiful backdrop of the Wichita Mountains Wildlife Refuge will give cyclists a chance to take in the impressive nature and landscapes around us.
Riders are encouraged to return to the Patriot Club and stick around for the post-ride fellowship that starts at 2 p.m., Sat. June 20.
Sponsored by Fort Sill MWR and Friends of the Trail non-profit, as well as the many volunteers who help make this possible.
Registration for riders will still be accepted the morning of Sat. June 20, (up to about 7:45 am), so its not too late to be a part of this scenic and memorable event.
