This week's Community Focus is on Lawton Chautauqua and their upcoming FREE event bringing to life "250 Years: The Spirit of America" on June 16- 20 at the Albert Johnson Sr. Conference Center (91 NE Maine St.-Lawton).
I met with Lawton Chautauqua Committee Chair, Janice Fritsch, to learn details about this FREE 5-day event that happens each year in June.
Scholars and actors from across the country who have prepared for over a year will perform in character describing the life and work of notable American figures.
Workshops will take place each day, Tues. June 16- Sat. June 20 at 9:30-10:30 a.m. & 11-noon. And the evening performances focusing on one character each night will take place from 7-8:30 p.m.
