Featured soloists include CU alumni Alyson Hays Bishop and Kirk Prucha, CU adjunct professor Khalil Cabrera-Tosado and community members Tia Johnson and Thea Mills. “Messiah” is conducted by Doris Lambert, adjunct instructor at Cameron University and director of choral music at the New Post Chapel.
The Lawton Schubert Music Club initiated the first performance of “Messiah” in Lawton in December 1941. Presented in a variety of settings, it has become a performance tradition during the Christmas season in the greater Lawton/Fort Sill area. The stage will be filled with a chorus of more than 80 singers representing 30 different church congregations and orchestra for this year’s performance.
