Volunteers Needed for Veterans History Project

Lawton, Ok. – Representatives from the Library of Congress and the AARP will conduct two training sessions for volunteers who would like to take part in the Veterans Histroy Project work. The training session for volunteers from the community is set for Thursday, Jan. 23, 2--4:30 pm, at Cameron University Student Activities Building, in the 300 block of University Drive, Lawton.
The second session for Cameron University student volunteers is set for 5--6 pm.
The Veterans History Project workshop is designed to cover the basics of interpersonal interaction with military veterans and civilian support persons, plus the technical aspects of conducting oral history interviews. The workshop also will introduce participants to the resources of the Library of Congress/American Folklife Center Veterans History Project. Each volunteer will be provided with a kit containing the necessary information and forms.
