Ringling, OK – An Ardmore man has been killed in a single-vehicle accident on a Jefferson County road.
The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says James R. Sowell was headed south on the road at a high rate of speed and his car failed to negotiate a curve near Ringling about 2:15 p.m. yesterday.
The 46-year-old Sowell tried to correct what had happened but the car left the road, rolled twice and threw him out of the wreckage about 27 feet.
The patrol says Sowell suffered massive injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.
Troopers said he wasn't wearing a seat belt.
