Lawton Public Schools will begin classes on August 21st. Every major city in Oklahoma has delayed the beginning of in-person classes for the start of the 2020-21 school year due to rising number of Covid-19 cases.

A 64-year-old man awaiting trial on drug and gun charges in the Oklahoma County Jail died after being transferred to a hospital and testing positive for COVID-19. 

Oklahoma State Treasurer Randy McDaniel says revenue collections rose by more than 27% in July due to a delay in the state income tax filing deadline because of the coronavirus.
