Coburn Says He's Undecided About Re-election Bid

Tulsa, OK – U.S. Sen. Tom Coburn says that while he hasn't yet decided on whether to run for a second term in the Senate, he has no plans to enter the 2010 governor's race in Oklahoma.

The Republican from Muskogee spoke yesterday at the Republican Women's Club of Tulsa. Before his speech, he said the fact a ``Coburn for Senate'' Web site has been activated should not be taken as confirmation he will seek re-election for that office in 2010.

He says the Web site is, quote, ``something you have to do if you have any money come in.''

Coburn spent much of his speech and the ensuing question-and-answer session addressing the aftermath of last week's presidential election, in which Democrat Sen. Barack Obama of Illinois defeated the GOP's nominee, Sen. John McCain of Arizona.

Coburn says Obama's election, along with more sizable majorities for Democrats in both houses of Congress, will not ruin the nation or the Republican Party.
