Texas Gas Skyrockets Due to Ike

Irving, TX – Gasoline prices skyrocketed over the weekend in Texas and nationwide because of Hurricane Ike.

The auto club AAA reported Monday that gasoline was averaging $3.84 per gallon Monday, up about 13 cents from Friday. That's almost a 4 percent increase in three days.

Nationally, the average rose a dime to $3.84 per gallon.

Texarkana had the highest price Monday at $3.81, up 23 cents from Friday.
