Oklahoma Gov. Henry Unable to Give Speech at DNC

Oklahoma City, OK – Governor Brad Henry was ready to give a glowing description of Oklahoma while delivering the state's votes at the Democratic convention in Denver.

But he never got the chance.

The roll call vote ended last night when Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton stopped the voting to ask the delegates to nominate Senator Barack Obama for president by acclamation.

Clinton cut off the delegate count when it got to her state, New York.

Because the roll call goes in alphabetical order Oklahoma didn't get to announce how its 48 delegates were planning to vote.

Henry says he had a great speech mentioning Will Rogers, the American Indian population in the state, the spirit of optimism and working together.
