Neill Executed for Geronimo Bank Murders

McAlister, Ok. – Witnesses that included family members of his murder victims heard the final statement of Jay Wesley Neill last night just before the lethal injection started at the State Penitentiary in McAlester. Neill said he was sorry for what he did. Three bank employees were stabbed multiple times and a customer was shot to death. Three more bank customers who were shot survived.
Neill also said Robert Grady Johnson, his lover and co-defendant in the case, was not in the bank at that time. Johnson is serving a life sentence behind bars without possiblity of parole. Neill was the sixth inmate executed in Oklahoma this year, with two more executions set for next week.
