Dallas, TX – Former President Bill Clinton is back on the campaign trail in Texas, lending his support to Democratic Senate candidate Rick Noriega.
Speaking last night before a crowd of about 2,000 supporters, Clinton highlighted Noriega's military service and work helping victims of Hurricane Katrina.
Taking on incumbent Republican Sen. John Cornyn hasn't been easy on Noriega, who's a Houston state House Democrat. Cornyn has raised and spent more money than Noriega and even made some headway in the typically Democratic Rio Grande Valley.
But Clinton told the crowd that a candidate can be outspent and still win.
Recently, Noriega got the endorsement of the political action committee for the Veterans of Foreign Wars, a national organization of about 2.2 million members.
Cornyn is a member of the Senate Committee on Armed Services.
