Underwriting
What is Underwriting and How Can It Help You?
Underwriting could be defined simply as advertising on public radio. However, it is better understood as a way for you to make a charitable contribution to KCCU, while also speaking directly to our tens of thousands of weekly listeners. KCCU recognizes your tax-deductible contribution with on-air announcements during the program(s) you wish to sponsor.
Underwriting spots identify:
- Your company's name
- The products / services you provide
- Your location / contact information
Underwriting Singles You Out
Underwriting on KCCU places you and your product or service in a unique position, separate from the clutter of commercial broadcasts. We never air more than one announcement per break, so your business is better highlighted, with a lower investment, than in traditional advertising.
88% of NPR listeners say their opinion of a company is more positive when they discover the company supports public radio, and 95% take direct action as a result of sponsorship.
You Reach A Target Audience
KCCU offers you the choice of sponsoring any part of our broadcast schedule, allowing you the freedom to select the programs that will reach your customer-base best. No matter the schedule you choose, you can rest assured that your spots reach a well-educated, loyal audience that values the businesses supporting public radio.
All of our underwriting contracts are 100% customized to meet your business needs and start as low as $25 per month.
Underwriting Identifies Your Company as Socially Active
An association with KCCU, with its long-standing reputation for civic involvement, identifies your company as a community-minded organization interested in more than simply selling a product or service. Every underwriting announcement solidifies your business' status as a enthusiastic participant in the local community.
