Polling Places Open November 5 for General Election

Oklahoma City, Ok. – Polls will open at 7 a.m. Tuesday and close at 7 p.m. According to the election board secretaries in Comanche and Stephens counties, it is taking quite a while for many voters to complete their ballot marking with a slate full of races on one side, nine state questions on the other. They advise voters to be prepared, with sample ballots available at county election board offices. Voters also can see the races for statewide offices plus others at the state level, and the state questions, at the state election board website: www.elections.state.ok.us.
If inperson absentee voting numbers are any indication, the polls should be busy. The Comanche County Election Board had 170 voters Saturday, the most so far voting inperson absentee on a Saturday since that day was added to the list in place of Thursday this year. If voters are in line to cast ballots at 7 p.m. Tuesday, they will be allowed to vote by election workers at their precinct. Comanche County headquarter offices for the Democrats and Republicans are offering free rides to the polls for any voter in need tomorrow, according to the election board office. The number to call for Democrats is 351-0374, and for Republicans it is 351-0110.
