Lawton Native Lands Role at NPR

Stillwater, OK – A former student reporter at Oklahoma State University's campus radio station has landed a job with National Public Radio.

Lawton native Lacy Tatroult will serve as the executive producer for NPR's Intern Edition.

In that role, she will lead at least 20 interns this fall at NPR headquarters in Washington, D.C., who are responsible for putting together a 30-minute audio program, a blog and multimedia content.

The Intern Edition show is an NPR training program and since 1999, almost 90 former interns have gone on to work for NPR.

OSU associate professor John McGuire served as Tatroult's adviser at the university. He says the internship will give Tatroult the chance to train in radio journalism at its highest level.
