NPR's From The Top come's from New England Conservatory's Jordan Hall with musicians all under the age of 14. Alice Ivy Pemberton, a young-violinist with local ties, performed there on February 3rd, 2008.

The program was recorded at that time and made available to stations on March 31, 2008. Alice's proud grandfather is James Ivy of Waurika, Oklahoma. James is a member of KCCU, and when he contacted us about From The Top (and Alice) all we wanted to know was where and when.

Not very many violinists get to play a duo with Gil Shaham; and when you take into consideration the number of 10-year-old violinists who have played a duo with Gil Shaham, live, on-stage, in front of people..., the list is even shorter.

KCCU will air From The Top on Sunday, April 13, 2008 at 7 p.m.
